"Re - Connect" Parenting Program

~Giving Veterans parenting tools, peer support and  opportunities to practice the skills learned while engaging in healthy fun, activities ~

Parenting can be trying under normal daily circumstances;  parenting after returning from  deployment, during separation or divorce or, or as you struggle to deal with post-deployment stressors such as post traumatic stress, family reintegration of parenting roles, and how to understand and parent your child as they adjust to having their missing parent back in their lives.

Re-Connect  is taught by Cindy Archibald, LCSW, a former therapeutic foster/adoptive parent, and CAFAF (CT Association for Foster and Adoptive Families) parent educator and creator of Veterans Base Camp's R.E.S.E.T for Vets program.  Re-Connect utilizes a strength-based, trauma-informed framework, parenting-style assessment tools, the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting curriculum,  peer support and opportunities for observed practice during fun, therapeutic activities where veterans can receive and give peer parenting  feedback and discuss their challenges with both their peers in the class and the instructors.  For more information, please contact Cindy Archibald at cindy.archibald@veteransbasecampinc.org.
